Where the house is placed
In Europe, Tiny Away already hosts countryside stays in 11 countries: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, France, Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and the UK. New houses in Europe are currently being placed in France, Italy, Sweden or the UK, depending on availability.
What you actually own
You purchase and own the tiny house: a caravan. It remains your property at all times; Tiny Away only has the right to possess and use it during the lease period. It is not real estate, nor a share in a fund or in Tiny Away.
Who looks after the house
You do not need a local agent, a European bank account or the local language. Tiny Away takes care of the bookings, hosts the guests, and maintains the house at its own expense for the lease period. You receive a fixed monthly rental income, paid on the 15th of every month as set out in your hire agreement.
Currency
Guests in Europe pay in euros, but your purchase, monthly rental and buyback are all in Singapore dollars.
Tax on the rental
How the rental is taxed depends on your own circumstances. Singapore rules on foreign-sourced income are set by IRAS. We recommend checking your position with a tax adviser before you buy.
At the end of the lease
This works the same wherever your house is placed. At the end of each 2- or 5-year lease period, you can renew your lease or take up the buyback option. See how the buyback works.
Visiting your house
Your house is part of a working holiday stay, so you can see it the same way guests do. As a tiny house owner, you also get an exclusive discount when you stay with Tiny Away.
